Meet the Team

I have experienced an enjoyable - and long - period in the insurance, and private equity, worlds having originally qualified as an actuary, then followed by 15 years at Eagle Star Group - rising to Chief Executive of Eagle Star International and Managing Director Eagle Star Life. From there I became Managing Director at Zurich Personal Lines and Interim Group Director at Liverpool Victoria. I was founding Executive Chairman of the impaired life annuity provider Partnership Assurance, as well as Chairman at A-Plan and Guardian Financial Services.

In July 2016, I was lucky enough to be appointed Chairman of the Kingsbridge Group. Kingsbridge stands out in a crowded field due to its innate and instinctive understanding of the contracting marketplace. Flexible working methods in the UK have grown rapidly in the last decade and that trajectory shows little sign of slowing down. I believe Kingsbridge are right at the frontier of this change and are extremely well placed to provide contractors and freelancers with the insurance cover so vital to their business needs.

Alongside Kingsbridge, I am currently Chairman of AllClear Insurance Services, Seven Investment Management and Canopius Managing Agents.

Chief Executive

I was appointed as Chief Executive of the Kingsbridge Group in September 2017. Previously I was a main Board Director and the Group Commercial Director of JLT Group PLC, having joined from McKinsey and Co., where I was an associate principal in their financial services and risk practices. My career started in investment banking at UBS, before leaving to set up a procurement software business backed by 3i and GE Capital. I have a First Class degree in modern languages from Oxford University and am a Trustee of English Heritage.

Deputy Chairman

I am the Deputy Chairman and Founder of Kingsbridge. I started the business in 2001, having previously spent my career with major international insurance brokers. Kingsbridge has three divisions comprising Kingsbridge Contractor Insurance, our freelance contractor online business, KIBL which handles the general insurance requirements of UK based corporate and commercial businesses, and KRM, handling our captive insurance management operations in Guernsey. All three divisions are very niche boutique businesses, and in each field we are a top three provider. In a world of mediocre service our mission is to provide all clients with a first class service, aligned with a detailed knowledge of their business.

Chief Operating Officer

I have known and followed the successful development of Kingsbridge since its inception back in 2001.

With a background principally in treasury, corporate finance and insurance I have worked with utility companies and engineering companies in the UK, Europe and Australia. I am proud that in all cases we have built a strong commitment in those businesses that has delivered high quality solutions, innovative answers, great results and a wonderful team spirit.

Over the last 10 years, in a slight change of focus, I have been involved in internet-system businesses - delivering solutions to a range of industries or running our own internet-based companies - including an online-insurance business.

I am also a qualified Corporate Treasurer, Chartered Secretary and, my joy-of-joys, a Level 2 Football Coach, as well as being an avid and passionate, yet terrible, football player.

Managing Director

I first started working at Kingsbridge in 2007, when we launched our online contractor offering. I head up the partnership team and am responsible for ensuring that anybody referred to us by their accountant or recruitment agency are given the best possible service.

I am proud of the unique way in which we operate. We're not just an eCommerce business with an online quote & buy facility. We're the only insurance broker to offer the complete contractor insurance solution; a comprehensive package of insurance that meets the needs of contractors, coupled with a proactive, knowledgeable and professional Partnership Team that work closely with our valued partners.

Operations Director

My first job after leaving school was as a customer services advisor for one of the first online insurance brokers,, which was part-owned by Kingsbridge. Having moved on from that, I re-joined Kingsbridge in 2007, led the launch of this current online business and, having taken a brief break to complete an MBA, I now have responsibility for all things marketing. This is incredibly varied in a world where one day we're coming up with an exciting presence at a recruitment event, and the next we're with creative agencies brainstorming ideas for video content or pouring over charts full of data to make sure the website is performing as best as possible.

I am a keen yacht racer and snowboarder, so when I'm not working I enjoy being in the mountains or on the water. Being based so far inland and away from any snow, I spend a lot of my spare time walking our two spaniels, and I'm an aspiring Great British Bake Off contestant!

Chief Financial Officer

I joined Kingsbridge in October 2015 helping steer it through its second PE transaction deal before joining as Chief Financial Officer in August 2016.

An experienced private-equity CFO, I have previously held senior roles within diverse businesses such as RAC, Halfords autocentres and Carewatch. The common thread is that they are all businesses with a strong customer service ethos and Kingsbridge is certainly no exception to this. The combination of a vibrant entrepreneurial team operating in a growing market place, makes for an exciting place to work and has certainly kept me very much on my toes.

Away from a desk, I try and find time to enjoy yachting, travelling and gardening. I am (quite possibly) renown for my barbequing skills.

Underwriting Director

Having worked in financial services my whole career, I settled in insurance with Kingsbridge over 5 years ago. When I moved to Kingsbridge, I was looking for a challenge, and it's certainly been that - everything has moved so fast! I joined the company when it was still young and my role has grown quickly as the business has rapidly developed.

I have overall responsibility for the Client Services Team but the technical side of insurance, underwriting, and dealing with compliance issues takes up most of my day-to-day role. I tend to be a referral point for all teams across the business, which means I always have to be aware of what's going on in each department. The thing I love most is every day being so varied in terms of the tasks I take on, whether that be helping the marketing team, the sales team or putting my compliance hat on.

In my down time I enjoy thinking about playing rugby, being an armchair spectator for most sports and have very recently found an enjoyment in photography.

Customer Services Manager

I joined Kingsbridge after previously working in the Energy and Banking sectors. My role as the Client Services Manager is very challenging and rewarding. I oversee the day to day operations within the team and ensure our clients have a smooth journey. I enjoy spending time with my family and watching football.

Partnership Development Manager

I originally worked for Kingsbridge for 12 months back in 2007, before heading off to university and having a short stint working for a sales recruitment company in Bristol. My role within Kingsbridge is in the Partnership Development Team, working with recruitment companies across the UK to ensure their contractor candidates have the appropriate insurance. What do I most enjoy? The variety my role brings, whether it's a day in the office or out meeting new and existing partners. On a Saturday I'm usually found aimlessly running around a rugby field and, on Sunday, with a roast dinner.

Relationship Manager

I first started working for Kingsbridge in 2007, helping out with policy renewals during the summer holidays. After finishing A-Levels I became the manager of a retail store at 18. I travelled the world before coming back to the UK and working in Fraud Investigation and Probate Administration, before coming back to Kingsbridge as a Partnership Development Executive.

My current role is within the Partnership Team, focusing in particular on gaining new business and on the account management of small, medium and regional accountancies offering an insurance solution to their contractor clients.

I play semi-professional football, like hitting the gym, and have in the past run 10ks and half marathons. I have backpacked in countries such as Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, South Africa & India, with South America already booked and ready to look forward to. Also love a beer!

Account Manager

I joined Kingsbridge after graduating from university with a degree in Sports Journalism. I gained experience in dealing with members of the public and decided on entering a customer services role to do so on a day to day basis. What I love most about the role is the diversity of the people you get the chance to speak with, and it's safe to say contractors are definitely easier to communicate with than your average sports star.

Digital Marketing Executive

I joined Kingsbridge after spending several years working for a well-known food retailer. Having traded in a world of Chateaubriand and Châteauneuf-du-Pape for one of Google Analytics and click through rates, I handle all things digital at Kingsbridge, from Social Media to Search Engine Optimisation. The thing I love the most? The fact that working in digital marketing always keeps you on your toes. The digital world is constantly changing, and the next innovation is always just around the corner.

Underwriting Administrator

I am part of the admin team running daily reports for management and training to better my underwriting knowledge. Before Kingsbridge I worked for a large corporate insurance company specialising in property cover.

My work day includes running reports and analysing data, helping customers with any queries and managing all referrals that need raising with our in-house underwriter.

In my spare time I love nothing more than going out and taking a bike ride through the local tracks, swimming, or doing something creative. On the quieter side I enjoy watching films or playing on the Playstation.

Lead Web Developer

I joined Kingsbridge in 2008, a year after the business began. I built the first version of our website (and more versions since) and I've been in charge of the coding and development since then. In that time I've seen my team grow and evolve into a great boon to the business.

I started my career before leaving school whilst working for my local internet café, where I helped drive our expansion into web design and development over 15 years ago. The technologies, methodologies and tools I use have changed almost beyond recognition in that time and this is what keeps me fascinated in the field. I've seen Kingsbridge change in just as dramatic a way and expect the development teams' work to be instrumental in driving the business to even greater heights.

Accounts Manager

I joined Kingsbridge in 2002 after taking a career break to look after my 3 children. I manage the finance team, pulling all the figures together for monthly reporting, budgets, and forecasts. I'm also responsible for reporting to our regulator, the FCA. What I like most about my job is the fact that each day is different, especially in a fast growing business. I never quite know what I'll be working on when I arrive at my desk in the morning. I love to travel, having spent my late teens living in Hong Kong and, now, love to take my family to exciting places on our summer holidays. The Far East is always a favourite but Cuba a few years ago was a really interesting experience.

Company HR and Tewkesbury Office Administrator

I've been with Kingsbridge since 2003. I am a mum of 2, and previous to 2003 I had a break to be at home with the family. I'm Group HR for Kingsbridge, so I look after all staff together with the administration of the Tewkesbury office. I love all aspects of my role as every day throws up something different. In my spare time, I love to walk, and spend as much time as possible in my garden. My biggest undertaking was the complete renovation of our home.
